Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you purchase a story, we collect your phone number and associate it with your order. Payment is processed entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details. We may also collect a general timezone estimate (inferred from your area code) to ensure story messages arrive at the right time of day.

How we use it

Your phone number is used only to deliver your story. We do not send marketing messages without your explicit opt-in. We do not sell or rent your data. We share it only as required to deliver the service (e.g., our SMS delivery provider), and, for measuring our ads, the limited website activity described under “Ads and measurement” below.

No mobile information (phone numbers or SMS opt-in) will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help.

Ads and measurement

We advertise on Instagram and Facebook and use Meta’s Pixel and Conversions API to see whether those ads work. When you visit our site, Meta may receive which pages you viewed, when you start a checkout, when a purchase or waitlist sign-up is completed (with its price), and technical details such as your browser and IP address and Meta’s cookies. For purchases and waitlist sign-ups we may also send your email address in a one-way hashed (scrambled) form, which Meta uses only to match the event to an account. We never send your phone number, your SMS consent, or anything about what you read, and nothing runs on reader pages.

Under California law this may count as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We honor your browser’s Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out.

Third-party services

We use Stripe for payment processing and Telnyx for text-message (SMS) delivery. Each of these providers has their own privacy policy. We use Neon for database hosting and Vercel for our website, and Meta for ad measurement (see above).

Data retention

We retain your phone number and delivery records for up to 12 months after your story completes. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@nextmessage.club.
